My daughters will turn (gasp) four in a few months. I really want to make a big deal out of the four turning four. One mom I know suggested a golf theme, as in "Fore!" I thought maybe a mini-golf party would be fun, but then I realized it's probably not a good idea to give a group of preschoolers golf clubs. I can just imagine the injuries.
Another mom of quadruplets said she did a Beatles theme (the Fab Four), which we may go with, too. I'm thinking an "under the sea" decor (to go with "Octopus's Garden") and maybe a yellow submarine cake. We're considering looking at whether the local aquarium has birthday packages.
Clearly I need more ideas. Are there other "four" themes you can think of? We did a Fantastic Four cake for their first birthday, so that option is out. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? No that won't work :)
Four Seasons (musical group or, hey, seasons)
Four directions (E, S, W, N)
Four magical elements (earth, air, fire and water). Magic has lots of beautiful and fun motifs and, in my opinion, promotes imagination, but, hey, I'm prejudice.
One thing one can always do is make your own four that's unique to your girls. Like (and this is how my mind works), the Fairy Four and either use Disney fairie stuff or your own imagination to come up with fairies indicative of your girls' favorite colors and traits.
You could also use Princess, Flower, Animal friends/Baby animals, Adventurers (and get adventure gear, maybe do a scavenger hunt where they have to use clues to find things - and best if they have to work together).
Just some thoughts. I know, I know. I'm not normal. You know, if you don't get enough suggestions, you can pose the question on Ask Me Anything. Someone always pipes up with something useful.
I am the most uncrafty person ever! So no ideas for you. But I use Dr Google to get lots of ideas for things!
Stephanie: those are some great ideas. I feel like I just had my own personal "Ask Me Anything" session.
Laura: I have no idea why I didn't think of Google.
How exciting for your family. The only time you'll be able to say I have four four-year-olds. Unfortunately, I don't have any ingenious ideas to offer either. But I agree with doing a google search for theme parties.
A little off topic (okay, a lot) but I didn't know until today that you once lived in Mansfield. I've been there a couple times. It's about 40 minutes from Norwalk. Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts.
Power Rangers are really not cool right now (ugh, and why were they ever), but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have made a comeback and there are four of them!
Ohhhh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Now that's a theme Hubby would be totally on board with. He wanted to decorate their room with the turtles... he was overruled by the Disney Princesses.
The connection to 4 may be a little tenuous for four-year-olds, but what about squares? You know, 4 is a perfect square, 4 kids x 4 years = 4 squared, a square has four sides.
That could work... there are all sorts of snack ideas that are square shaped...
