Vote for a Great Triplet Mom

A friend of mine needs your help. Electrolux has teamed up with American Idol to find a "Mom Idol." The finalists have been chosen and Kim Nelson is among them. Kim is a mom of triplet boys and a little girl. She is active in my local moms of multiples group and is just one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. At club events, she's always there with a smile on her face, making sure everyone is having a good time. She's also active in her church as well as her childrens' school events. Did I mention she's doing this alone? Two years ago, Kim's husband died in a car accident. If she's chosen as the "Mom Idol," Kim will win a trip for two to the American Idol finale, a $5,000 donation to the charity of her choice, a VIP makeover and (drum roll please) a suite of Electrolux appliances. I really want Kim to win. Please click here to vote. When you vote you can also register to win an Electrolux appliance. You can vote daily through May 13, 2010.
***And don't forget, you still have time to enter my Michael Bolton CD giveaway.

Review and Giveaway: Celtic Woman

I love music. I need music in the car. I need music when I work out. I've even started wearing my IPod when I'm at the grocery store. I want my daughters to enjoy music, too. It has been trial and error to figure out what they like, as opposed to what I like. But this time, I think I've found something we all enjoy.
As part of the Music Moms program through Te
am Mom, I recently received a complimentary CD from EMI Music. The CD is Celtic Woman's "Songs from the Heart." I was curious to see how my girls would react to music they don't recognize (not nursery rhymes, not from a movie, etc.).
Celtic Woman is a five-member Irish female ensemble. The vocalists are Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe. The violinist is Mairead Nesbitt. The group has sold more than 3.8 million records in the U.S. alone and has had seven sold-out U.S. tours. They've also performed on Dancing With the Stars and have performed on PBS specials. I've caught at least one of the PBS specials in the past and have been blown away by the beauty of their music.
On much of the disc they put a Celtic spin on popular songs, such as Billy Joel's "Goodnight My Angel" and Sting's "Fields of Gold." I think of all the songs featured on this CD, my favorite is "Nil Se'n La." It's a little more upbeat than some of the others and has such an "Irish feel" to it. I really don't know a better way to describe it. I dare you not to feel chills on "Amazing Grace" with its bagpipes and haunting vocals. My daughters enjoyed Celtic Woman's take on "You'll Be in My Heart." They also enjoyed looking at the cover art and seeing the performers in their "princess dresses."
Want to experience Celtic Woman for yourself? One lucky reader will win Celtic Woman's "Songs From the Heart" live concert DVD.

Another Chance to Win Skin MD Natural Products

A few months ago I had the opportunity to review and giveaway a bottle of Skin MD Natural. The lotion acts as a "shield" of sorts on the skin and I've definitely noticed my hands don't seem as dry as they normally do in the winter.
Recently, 21st Century Formulations, the makers of Skin MD Natural, contacted me to let me know about a contest they're sponsoring. One lucky winner will receive a basket full of Valentine's Day goodies. Click here to enter.

The basket contains a bottle of Skin MD Natural shielding lotion, a bottle of Skin MD Natural + SPF 15 shielding lotion, one pound of See's assorted dark chocolates, a pack of Starbucks VIA Ready brew coffee pouches, a coffee mug, a teddy bear and a lollipop bouquet. You have until Feb. 7, 2010 to enter the giveaway. The winner will be chosen Feb. 8, 2010. As someone who uses the shielding lotion, I can tell you this is a great prize to try to win.
For promoting the giveaway, 21st Century Formulations offered me a complimentary bottle of Skin MD Natural. But, instead, I've asked them, and they've agreed, to send a care package to Sadia of Double the Fun and Twice the Confusion. A week or so ago Sadia blogged about her dry, cracked knuckles. As an avid reader of her blog, I know Sadia, a mom of twins whose husband is currently deployed to Korea is need of a little pick-me-up and a little pampering. So, Sadia, I hope this brings a smile to your face! (And, yes, this is why I messaged you on Facebook for your address). Good luck to all who enter the contest!

And the Winner is....

ME!!!! I rarely win anything. The last time I remember winning a raffle or giveaway it was at last summer's picnic for my moms of multiples group. There were several baskets to win. Out of sympathy for Hubby I put a ticket in a sports-themed basket, as well as numerous me-themed baskets. I won the sports basket. Not a thing in it for me, but Hubby was delighted. So imagine my surprise when I visited And Twins Make 5! yesterday and learned I won a recent giveaway.
I will soon be the proud owner of a Crayola Creativity Pack, which includes colored pencils, markers and glitter glue, to name a few things. With my daughters' birthday approaching, I can't wait to receive this. Yes, I'll be saving it until their big day.
Since I'm not one to simply brag about my winnings, I thought you would want to know that the site is giving away the same prize this week. If you have a child in your life (your child, a relative, a neighbor) head on over and enter to win. Who knows... maybe you'll be surprised to learn you're the next winner!

Drumroll Please

It's time to announce the winners of my Pay It Forward challenge. There weren't as many entries as I had hoped for, but I didn't think it was fair to extend the deadline. So, without further ado, the winners are Laura C. and LeAnn. Congratulations!!!! And for the rest of you, I have a long day of work tomorrow and plan to be back at full blog-strength on Sunday. Have a great weekend.

Pay It Forward Challenge

I had a nice long Memorial Day weekend capped off with a pleasant surprise. I was one of the winners in the "Pay It Forward Challenge" from My Life in the Fishbowl. Sherri's wonderful package of goodies arrived yesterday and my daughters and I had a grand time going through the stash this morning. The point of the challenge is to acknowledge fellow bloggers with some tokens of appreciation... then they pass on the recognition to three others.

Sherri's package was quite fun to open. Inside I found a Starbucks gift card, a photo album (considering how many pictures I take I'll have it filled in no time), a beautiful notepad, a cute flowered nail file, some post-its and cucumber melon hand sanitizer (how she knew that is my favorite scent is beyond me). Best of all there was a nice note from Sherri. I feel as though I know her even though we've only met in cyberspace.
Now it's my turn to pay it forward. Before I go through the rules, let me say this: if you decide to take part, you don't have to go to grand levels to pay it forward if you are a winner. The point of this challenge is to simply let others know they are appreciated. You don't have to put a lot of money into this, just do something to say "hey, thanks for being you" and brighten someone's day.
So here are my rules: To enter, leave a comment telling me your favorite TV show. Your entry must include an email or blog address so I can reach you. If you are a winner you will have 48 hours after notification to claim your prize. Want an extra entry? Follow this blog. Want another entry? Twitter about the challenge and include @quadmama in your tweet. Be sure to leave a comment for each additional entry. To keep shipping costs down this is only open to U.S. addresses. The deadline to enter is 11:59 PM (MST) Thursday June 4, 2009. Now if you'll excuse me I need to figure out what I'll be putting in the goodie packages for my lucky winners.
