Or having to care for sick kids when you yourself are sick.

When my son was going through some serious health issues, I think it aged me (internally) about 10 years - as I found myself questioning his surgeon and challenging the pharmacist and being this really strong-willed, vocal advocate for my kid - talk about a mom moment.Jacqueline Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01210236489920205357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-85188386668323582002009-08-31T16:00:40.874-06:002009-08-31T16:00:40.874-06:00Hubby definitely uses that as his "excuse&quo...Hubby definitely uses that as his "excuse" for playing with their toys.Quadmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12811147214370454309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-75817214480631229982009-08-31T13:16:46.860-06:002009-08-31T13:16:46.860-06:00I definitely have days like this - it's as if ...I definitely have days like this - it's as if part of me can't believe that I actually grew up... of course, one of the fun things about being a parent is that you DO have a fantastic excuse to play with toys!MaryAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13253503049272771754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-21348711577108623972009-08-31T12:13:50.804-06:002009-08-31T12:13:50.804-06:00Stephanie: I love the fact that as a rocket scient...Stephanie: I love the fact that as a rocket scientist you're still blown away by the fact that you get paid to work on space stuff.

Sadia: trust me, you're not alone!Quadmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12811147214370454309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-16695445758285358262009-08-31T12:07:19.309-06:002009-08-31T12:07:19.309-06:00I'm so glad you put that in words, because I t...I'm so glad you put that in words, because I thought I was the only one. My husband said he never has quite that "wait, *I*'m the parent!" experience, although his self-perception is that he's a father of infants and is always shocked at how mature the kiddos are.Sadiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04042551936789254047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-26994116828993485482009-08-31T12:02:20.312-06:002009-08-31T12:02:20.312-06:00I get it all the time. Hell, I'm barely comfortable with the notion I'm a new mom (which I'm that, too).

Of course, the same thing happened with the realizations I had that I was an adult when my SISTER (two years younger) turned 21. If she was an adult, what did that make me?

And working at Johnson Space Center, with space stuff. I'd been working there six months, was driving around on site when I had to pull over as it hit me. I work on space stuff. And they pay me.

Heaven help me if I ever publish anything substantial. I'll be pinching myself for a year.Stephanie Barrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17772217449161603561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-62375557652422228522009-08-31T11:44:25.062-06:002009-08-31T11:44:25.062-06:00I'm looking forward to "testing" out...I'm looking forward to "testing" out their new videogame system too...
-HubbyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-86958386332245584132009-08-31T10:50:36.676-06:002009-08-31T10:50:36.676-06:00Oh yeah, like you didn't FORCE the girls to pl...Oh yeah, like you didn't FORCE the girls to play with the blocks yesterday so you had an excuse to build things.Quadmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12811147214370454309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-998204900912962092.post-32858629188328120472009-08-31T10:43:38.044-06:002009-08-31T10:43:38.044-06:00I remember that I'm a dad when I'm forced ...I remember that I'm a dad when I'm forced to stop playing w/ the Dora (Mega) Bloks...
-HubbyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
